Nothing great, but I've never played in a Sunday major before today. With those crazy 2x guarantees and huge prize pools I couldn't resist. Friday I sattied into the Sunday (2) Million on my 3rd double shootout attempt. So I was in that tourney for only $35.10 instead of $215.00. I decided then that I was going to play a little over my head this Sunday and experience a Sunday like I often read about on P5's. I slept a little longer this morning than I wanted to so the first tourney I played was the $11 200k guaranteed on Stars. This was my schedule for the day.
12:30pm Poker Stars $11.00 NLHE 200k guaranteed
1:30pm Poker Stars $215.00 NLHE 2 Million guaranteed
3:00pm Full Tilt $26.00 NLHE 16k guaranteed
3:30pm Poker Stars $215.00 NLHE 2nd Chance 400k guaranteed
4:00pm Poker Stars $11.00 NLHE 40k guaranteed
5:00pm Poker Stars $27.50 NLHE 50k guaranteed
5:00pm Full Tilt $26.00 NLHE 32k guaranteed
6:30pm Poker Stars $55.00 NLHE 100k guaranteed
Total buy-ins for the day $406.60 (couning the Sunday Mill as $35.10 cause I sattied in)
Total cashes for the day $506.44
The only tournament I cashed in out of the 8 I played was the $215.00 Sunday 2nd Chance. I bubbled the $26.00 32k guarantee on FTP and really wasn't even close in any of the other 6. I had a huge stack in the 32k on FTP too but one misplayed hand and one bad beat and I bubbled. All in all I'm pretty happy with the day. I played pretty well for the most part, had some great players on some of my tables (RaiNKhAN, atimos, BodogAri, THAY3R, Stoweski, legggggggggy and I'm sure some others) and it was a good experience. I know I can play at that level now. Honestly, a lot of those big buy-in tournies felt just like a $5 MTT.

Hey everybody. Time for an update on my life.
What's up party people? It's been a while since I've made a new entry in my blog so here is an update on what's been going on with me for the last month and my plans for the future.
As some of you might know, I was the vault manager at the Long Beach convention center for 10 years. Quite a fucking grind. I was working 50-60 hours a week at times and I was a salaried employee which means that my paychecks were the same every two weeks regardless of how many hours I put in. Well, May 23rd was my last day. I finally got tired of it and decided to resign from the company. I had no other job lined up at the time, I just decided that I'd had enough and it was time to do something else.
For the last 6 weeks I'v just been playing a lot of poker. Well, a lot for me anyways. I've played about 250 MTTs and 225+ SNGs in those 6 weeks with some cash games mixed in as well. I joined a training site to help with my game and have been putting in some good work. I'm seeing some improvement already and have had some close calls in some pretty good tournies. Most of you know that I live in freakin' micro land (my average buy-in over the last 2 years is $6) but I've been moving up the chain a little bit. Actually, just yesterday, I cashed in both the $27.50 50k guaranteed and the $33 20k guaranteed on Poker Stars. Before those, the biggest buy-ins I'd ever cashed in was a $26 on Full Tilt and a $16.50 on Stars. Now time to FT some shit!
As for what's been going on in those 6 weeks outside of poker, I'm getting ready to move into a new house in Buena Park next week. It's a nice 3br 2ba house with nice yards, a good size garage and a hella huge livingroom. I'll put up some pics on P5s after we move in and get everything set up. Pretty stoked on that. It will be a nice upgrade from my 2br 2ba condo that I'm in now.
As for the employment situation, I didn't have anything lined up when I turned in my resignation to my previous job. I had no plan either. After thinking about it for a while, I decided that I want to be a poker dealer. Not only will this help my poker game, but believe it or not, I will be making more money working less hours and doing something that I will most likely enjoy. Luckily too, thru some P5s connections, I have a pretty good in at Hawaiian Gardens Casino and will most likely be dealing there. I'm gonna take like another month or so off after I get moved into the new house just to play a bunch more poker before I get started at the new job. I plan to update my blog every night after I move into the new place before I go to bed. I'll just recap my days tournies and any interesting everyday shit that happens and then after I start dealing, I'm sure I'll have some cool stories to tell about that.
That's all for now kiddos,
Greg "SICKTIGHT311" Benoit
